Air Canada will double the frequency of its daily flights from Beijing to Vancouver and increase its flights from Shanghai to Toronto in July, the Shanghai Business Journal reported. “These added flights represent an increased capacity of nearly 50% for the growing Chinese market,” said Daniel Shurz, Air Canada’s vice president of Network Planning.

For the second time this month, and the seventh in less than a year, mainland banks have been ordered to increase reserves by 50 basis points, to a ratio of 11%.  Effective beginning May 15, this is just the latest move by the central bank to cool China’s red-hot economy.
