Beijing may raise vehicle and shipping taxes

Beijing is likely to raise its vehicle and shipping taxes despite complaints that the existing taxes are too high, the Jinghua Times reported. Beijing’s municipal legislature confirmed it had modified new draft rules for new vehicle and shipping taxes following public consultation, and would announce implementation timeframes in September or October, pending Beijing municipal government approval.
