Changan Ford has produced 140 Volvo S40 in the month of June, though the company claims that there is still no fixed schedule for the new model to be launched in Mainland Market, according to Xinhuanet. In early June, S40 was already registered on the new car catalogue of National Development and Reform Commission, implying the product will be launched in the next several months. Several Volvo distributors have already accepted S40 pre-orders and some comment that Mainland-made S40 are 60000 to 70000 Yuan cheaper than the imported ones. For the first half of 2006, Changan Ford has produced almost 60000 new cars which is a 177% raise from the same time last year; gross sales revenue reaches 76 million Yuan which is also a 138% raise from last year.
