- China will increase subsidies to exploitation and abstraction of coalbed methane (CBM), the State Council said, adding that the pricing of CBM will be more market driven. The policies will be aimed at promoting mergers and acquisitions in the industry and increasing power generation from CBM.
- China's crude oil output rose 1.1% year on year to 17.47 million tons in August, the National Development and Reform Commission said. Refined oil output was up 8.6% to 22.88 million tons; refined oil apparent consumption was up 5.5% to 23.2 million tons.
- China's natural gas output rose 6.4% year on year to 9.3 billion cubic meters in August, the National Development and Reform Commission said. Natural gas imports were up 44.4% to 4.9 billion cubic meters; natural gas apparent consumption was up 18.9% to 13.5 billion cubic meters.
