China's 10 Most Profitable Firms Made ¥314m Per Day in 2011

The 2,400-odd companies publicly traded in mainland China posted a combined ¥22.42 trillion in revenues for 2011, up 23.4% from the year before, Wind data show.

The amount was equivalent to China's top 22 provinces' aggregate gross domestic product during the same year, or 4.25 times Guangdong's total output, the nation's largest provincial economy, according to Wind.

Their net profits rose 13.2% to ¥1.93 trillion last year, the weakest growth in the past three years. The 10 most profitable companies, seven of which were commercial lenders, netted ¥314 million per day in 2011, Wind said.

Market watchers say corporate earnings will begin making headways in the second quarter of 2012 as global economic recovery gains momentum.
