China's Public Hospitals to Embrace Private Capital

The Chinese government will soon release a list of 16 cities for a pilot program on reform of public hospitals, Zhang Mao, vice health minister told Oriental Outlook magazine earlier this week. The guidelines on introducing private capital into public hospitals and encouraging direct establishment of private hospitals will elaborate on credentials, supervision, tax breaks and preferential loans.
