December 30 – Industrial use of corn in China, the world's second biggest corn consumer, may grow at the slowest pace in at least five years as the economy cools, Bloomberg reported, citing state-run researcher Cngrain.com. The amount processed may expand 5% to 55 million tons in the year ending September 30, compared with 11% a year earlier, Cngrain.com analyst Zhang Zhixian said.
