China communication sector revenue up 11.4% in the first 7 months

Total revenue from China's communications sector, including postal and telecommunications services, reached 405.29 billion yuan (50.66 billion US dollars) in the first seven months, up 11.4 percent year-on-year, Forbes reported. According to the Ministry of Information Industry, telecom revenue rose 11.4 percent to 368.28 billion yuan (46 billion US dollars), while postal revenue grew 11.7 pct to 37.01 billion yuan (4.6 billion US dollars). Total fixed asset investment in the telecom sector stood at 103.23 billion yuan (12.9 billion US dollars) at end-July, up 14.5 percent from the year earlier.
