October 31 – KFC, which is owned by Yum! Brands Inc (NYSE: YUM), raised its prices in China by ¥0.5 to ¥2 for some products due to rising chicken prices, marking the company's second price hike in a month. KFC China also said prices might vary in different Chinese cities or even different restaurants in the same city in the future.

October 28 – Tesco opened its 15th store in Jiangsu province. The British retailer now operates 98 stores across 43 mainland cities.

October 28 – Pacific Coffee, a Hong Kong-based coffee house chain, plans to operate 50 stores in mainland China by the end of 2011.

October 25 – Turnover of online B2C transactions rose 15% quarter on quarter and 137% year on year to ¥62.1 billion in Q3 2011, according to Analysys International.
