February 17 – The number of cellphone users in China rose 14.8% to 986 million in 2011 and is projected to reach 1.11 billion by the end of this year, according to Analysys International. The number of 3G-backed cellphone users totaled 128 million last year.
February 17 – The 3,000 retailers tracked by the Ministry of Commerce saw their revenues grow 12.7% year on year in January, with sales of home appliances and vehicles down 10% and 4.8% respectively.
