Produce Trade Surplus Surges 82% in Q1
China exported $14.47 billion worth of produce and imported $25.87 billion worth of produce in Q1 2012, up 5.6% and 29.5% respectively from the same period a year ago, according to customs figures. This resulted in a $11.4 billion surplus during the period, up 81.5% year on year.

China to Serve 450m 3G Users by 2015
China's revenue from telecommunications services is expected to total ¥1.5 trillion annually by 2015, according to a five-year plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The number of 3G service users is estimated to exceed 450 million accounting for 36% of all mobile service users by the end of 2015.

Premium Incomes Amount to ¥483b Through Mar
China's premium incomes grew 4.7% year on year to ¥483.5 billion in the first three months of 2012, including ¥320.3 billion from life and casualty insurance policies and ¥130 billion from property insurance policies, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission said.

More than 300 million rural dwellers are expected to look for jobs in cities in the next 20 years in China, the National Population and Family Planning Commission predicted. China's urbanization rate has for the first time cracked the 50% mark, hitting 51.27% last year, with 230 million migrants in cities.
