Lending Rebound at Top 4 Banks Shows Sign of Recovery
China's four biggest state-backed banks lent a combined ¥70 billion in the first half of August, ¥20 billion more from the same period a month earlier, the Shanghai Securities News reported. Based on these figures, analysts forecast bank lending to total ¥600 billion nationwide in August; up from the ¥540 billion lent in July, when the market was expecting ¥700 billion in new lending.
