China foreign trade still dominated by foreign enterprises

Foreign enterprises still dominate international trade in Mainland, according to the top 500 import and export ranking as well as top 200 export ranking released by Ministry of Commerce on July 13, as reported by Shanghai Securities Journal.   According to the figures, 60.8% are foreign-owned enterprises and 28.2% are national enterprises among the top 500 import and export firms; 62.5% are foreign-owned enterprises and 28.5% are national enterprises among the top 200 export firms.   Energy, mechanical, electronics and high technology are the leading firms. All the top 10 enterprises fall under the categories. Sinopec secures the top spot with 343.3 million US dollars import and export sales.   The import and export sales of the top 500 enterprises amount to 6047.5 million US dollars, which is 42.6% of the total import and export sales of the country and a 0.4% year-on-year increase; Export sales of the top 200 enterprises amount to 2368.9 million US dollars, which is 31.1% of the total export sales of the country and a 0.5% year-on-year increase.
