December 19 – Minmetals Resources Ltd (HKG: 1208) said its plan to spend $1.85 billion acquiring Minerals and Metals Group which has been approved by the Australian government. The Australian company is a leading producer of zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver.

December 17 – Youngor Group Co (SHA: 600177), a leading apparel maker based in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, said it has bought out Zhejiang Yingte Property Management Co for ¥450 million. Youngor's net profit of real estate and equity investment was worth ¥2.8 billion last year whereas the core business contributed just ¥440 million to total net profits.

December 16 – A consortium led by private equity fund KKR & Co has paid $100 million for a minority stake in VATS Liquor Store, a Chinese liquor chain, said people familiar with the deal, without disclosing more financial details. New Horizon Capital, a Chinese PE fund, was one of the investors.

December 14 – Owens-Illinois Inc (NYSE: OI), a US glass container manufacturer, said it has signed an agreement to acquire Hebei Rixin Group's glass container division. The deal to be finalized by the end of 2010 will increase Owens-Illinois' annual capacity in China to upwards of 1 million tons from currently 440,000 tons.
