China Mobile Denies Focus Media Deal

A China Mobile (NYSE: CHL, HKG: 0941) official has said his company, the world's biggest wireless phone carrier, was not aware of the report that Focus Media Holding Ltd (NASDAQ: FMCN) had acquired a stake in its 12580 business, which is a hotline number you can call to get information about dining, entertainment, travel, weather, traffic, hotel and tourism. Focus Media, a Chinese out-of-home advertising network operator, purchased a 51% stake in China Mobile's 12580 business, JLM Pacific Epoch reported Sunday, citing a source who declined to give his/her name.
