October 13 – China has 90% of its population, or 1.28 billion people, covered by basic public healthcare, according to the cabinet's healthcare office.
September 23 – Output of China's petrochemical industry expanded 34.9% year on year to ¥6.39 trillion in the first eight months of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission said. China processed 297.44 million tons of crude oil into 176.56 million tons of refined oil during the period, up 6.6% and 7% year on year respectively.
August 29 – China's pharmaceutical industry posted ¥714.6 billion in revenues and ¥62.9 billion in profits for 1H 2011, up 27.9% and 21.2% year on year respectively, according to the National Development and Reform Commission. The industry imported $13.17 billion worth of products and exported $21.38 billion worth of products over the period, up 45.7% and 36.6% year on year respectively.
August 24 – Aggregate medicine sales revenues in China grew 24.6% to ¥708.4 billion in 2010, where retail sales were up 20% to ¥127.5 billion, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
