July 9 – Residential rentals rose 4.1% year on year in June, the third consecutive month that the growth rate was above 4%. Analysts say rising home prices and graduating students looking for jobs increased demand for renting.

July 3 – Government proceeds from selling residential land blocks surged 132% year on year in China's 300 largest cities in 1H 2013, with the growth in tier-1 cities up 354% and the growth in key tier-2 cities up 67%. There are 3 implications from the hectic sales: improved government financial positions,n rebounding residential construction in the next 6-9 months and rising operating costs in tier-1 cities.

July 3 – Property sales in the 41 largest Chinese cities rose 20% week on week for the week through June 30, 2013. Property sales are expected to be weaker in 2H 2013 than in 1H 2013.

July 3 – Rentals of prime-location office space in Beijing dropped 0.7% quarter on quarter to 316.5 yuan per square meter per day in Q2 2013. It was the first quarter on quarter decline in 3 years as the sputtering economy weakened demand. Office space vacancy rate stood at 2.8% in Beijing in Q2 2013, down 0.6 percentage points from Q2 2012.

July 2 – New home sales fell 10% year on year in June, compared to a 2% year on year fall in May. The seasonal pick up in June was weaker than expected as new home sales grew only 8% month on month compared with the 50% month on month increase in June 2012. While new home sales growth rose 27% year on year in 1H 2013, the growth rate slowed from the 59% in Q1 2013 dragged down by a lukewarm 5% growth rate in Q2 2013.
