China Southern Airlines (CSA) (ZNH.NY, 600029.SH) has signed an agreement with the Liaoning provincial government to inject US$1.46 billion (RMB10 billion) into Liaoning Airport Group over the next three to five years, Xinhua
reported. CSA will offer funding and technical support to help build a third terminal building at the group’s airport in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, and improve airport services. The partnership aims to launch five to eight international routes within three to five years and establish the airport as the key aviation hub for northeastern China by 2020. Based in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, CSA is Asia's largest and the world's fourth largest carrier. It handled 57 million passengers in 2007.
