China soybeans stricken by drought

China’s soybean output may fall to its lowest level in 15 years due to drought, requiring record imports, the official Xinhua news agency reported. According to Shanghai JC Intelligence Co, a commodity research body, this year’s soybean output may decrease 17% to 12.9 million tons, while imports may increase 10% to 31.4 million tons starting from October.
