China Telecom Profit Rises 7.6% on Broadband Users
China Telecom Corp., the nation's biggest fixed-line phone operator, increased second-half profit 7.6% after attracting more broadband Internet users, Bloomberg reported. Net income rose to 10.58 billion yuan ($1.37 billion) from 9.84 billion yuan a year earlier, according to Jacky Yung, spokesman for the Beijing-based company.
