China web portals benefit from World Cup Craze

Major Internet portals of Tom, Sina and Sohu.com have registered huge revenues in June as a result of World Cup advertising.   While Tom said that it earned 4 times profit of its investment, Sohu.com released a 50 million yuan profit and Sina has advertisers reached 100.   According to People’s Daily, American marketing information servicing company AC Nielsen predicted that World Cup-related advertising in China was expected to reap 150 million yuan.
