Credit Agricole to set up fund venture in China
Credit Agricole Asset Management, a unit of France's second-largest bank, will set up a 200 million yuan (25.2 million US dollars) fund management venture with Agricultural Bank of China and Aluminum Corp. of China, Bloomberg reported.
Credit Agricole will own a third of the venture, while Agricultural Bank will control 51.67 percent, said Bloomberg, quoted Thierry Mequillet, chief executive of Credit Agricole Asset Management for Asia, as saying.
Agricultural Bank is China's third-largest lender by assets. Bank of Communications Ltd., China Construction Bank Corp. and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China were the first lenders chosen by the government to form fund units.
