Bright Foods (Group) Co. Ltd is launched in Shanghai as China’s biggest dairy products maker, Reuters reported. The merger of Bright Dairy, Shanghai Sugar Cigarette & Wine (Group) Co. Ltd., Jinjiang Food and Shanghai Bright Dairy and Food will help the companies focus resources on their core businesses, analysts said to Reuters. The new company will have 45.8 billion yuan in assets and annual sales of 40.6 billion yuan, the group said in a statement. Chinese authorities are trying to create industry giants in various sectors, hoping such mergers will give companies economies of scale and help them face growing foreign competition.
