Global enterprises leaders see China as the biggest singular opportunity
Senior management in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific see China as the biggest singular opportunity but most afraid that competitors would be able to steal their commercial secrets, a survey said, FTChinese.com reported.
The survey conducted by management consultant firm, Hay Group, found out that China has increasing demand for imported products and services. 83 percent of company heads want to cultivate a significant from the trend and most of them have already established businesses in Mainland.
However, the senior management showed apparent concern over China’s business environment especially the inefficiency of the government to protect copyright and combat privacy.
Other factors obstruct business achievement include corruption, bureaucracy and lack of transparency in legal system. The survey said. One fourth of the leaders also pointed out that the unfair treatment foreign enterprises receive is another hurdle.
Foreign senior management was concerned with the lack of qualified human resources and among which one fourth the lack of qualified and skilled local managers are found during recruitment processes.
More than half of the interviewees gave a worse evaluation on communication and organization skills to Chinese managers than those of their respective countries.
Frank Hartle, Director of Hay Group, said that there will be a fierce struggle for human resources when companies are in search of Chinese directors or managers to lead their branches.
