Great Wall Broadband has resolved its two-year dispute with its largest operating agent, Changhong, and the two parties will set up a unified broadband network under the Great Wall brand, China Business News reports. In September, 2003, Changhong (unrelated to the color TV giant) said that Great Wall failed to fulfill an agreement to pay a 7.2 million yuan maintenance fee and an additional 7 million yuan in compensation. Subsequently, in the absence of a unified sales network, Great Wall's agents fought amongst themselves for customers. The unified network will be under the control of Changhong. Great Wall has expanded through partnerships and has profitable businesses in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Xiamen; the company says that it is in advanced talks with at least four overseas investors. Great Wall has 500,000 subscribers and is working on IPTV with partners in Shanghai and VOIP with China Netcom and China Telecom. It has started IPTV service in Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen, with four stations in Beijing. Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=7023219
