Hilton partners with TeeMall in Guangzhou
Hilton Hotels has finally signed a ten-year management agreement with TeeMall to establish a Hilton Hotel in a TeeMall project in Guangzhou, China Business News reports. TeeMall, which built the Chinese mainland's first shopping mall in 1996, had intended its project to include shopping, top flight office space, and a five-star hotel. Hilton will move into the western tower of the complex, which is still in its planning stages; the eastern tower was completed last year at a cost of 800 million yuan. This will be Hilton's first hotel in Guangzhou; it has 22 hotels in China split among Macao, Hong Kong, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Zhongshan, and has been looking to move into Guangzhou since the city removed its ban on new hotels two years ago. When completed in 2008, the Yuehai Hilton will have 450 rooms on 38 floors, and will represent an initial investment of 600 million yuan.Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=8050879
