Infant formula scandal an opportunity for foreign brands: expert
The ongoing tainted infant formula scandal could give foreign brands an opportunity to capture a larger share of the Chinese infant milk powder market, particularly in the economically developed Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions, Chen Gang, a dairy industry analyst with Guojin Securities, told China Business News. “The high-end infant formula market is likely to undergo a shakeup, at least in the short-run, with foreign brands attracting more buyers,” Chen said. “In less developed areas, consumers will switch to soy milk as they cannot afford imported formula.” His comments come after the Guangdong ...
