Invensys Process Systems, a UK-based technology and controls group focusing on industrial automation and rail transport, signed a deal Wednesday with two Chinese nuclear power plants. The Fuqing and Fangjiashan plants, respectively in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces, are supposed to pay $250 million for automation and digitalization solutions to 4 sets of machines. The Chinese government has set a goal of making 5% of power generators nuclear powered to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on coal. These 2 nuclear plants are each capable of two 1 million kilowatt generators.
