Lenovo to purchase 10 billion RMB of MS system software
Lenovo chairman Yang Yuanqing said that in 2006, Lenovo would purchase 10 billion yuan worth of Microsoft system software, China Business News reports. Speaking in Beijing at a conference on intellectual property, Yang predicted that for the domestic market alone, Lenovo would spend as much as 1.2 billion yuan on Microsoft system software; he said that this not only represented the close trading relationship that exists between China and the US, but also reflected a commitment to copyright and intellectual property protection. Since last November, Lenovo has been pre-installing Microsoft Windows on a large proportion of the machines it sells in the China market.Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=7813083
