According to a SARFT insider cited in China Business Daily, subscription fees for the digital cable
service will remain unchanged at 22 yuan (US$2.7) per month. Set-top boxes for
cable subscribers were for the most part provided by Qingdao's government, which will recoup the
expense through subscription fees. The 600,000 subscribers will receive over 50
television stations and 16 channels of digital radio broadcasting.
