Mariott to expand Beijing hotel empire

Marriott International, the world’s largest hotel operator, said it plans to more than double the number of its hotels in Beijing ahead of the 2008 Olympics, the Beijing News reported. The company will add six hotels to its existing five in Beijing before the Olympics opening ceremony. It will also open another 20 hotels across China by 2010, Marriott said in a prospectus.
