New home buyers "wait and see" in Shanghai
Transactions in Shanghai’s new home market declined for the fourth straight month since October as more prospective homebuyers adopted a wait-and-see strategy, the Shanghai Business Journal reported. Between 850,000 and 900,000 square meters of new residences are expected to be sold in January, excluding housing allocated to displaced people, down more than 15% from the 1.07 million square meters sold in December, according to figures from Shanghai Youwin Real Estate Information Services Co.
