Newly weds spend $16k on average
Newly wed couples in urban China spent an average of US$16,813 (RMB126,600) on weddings, home decorations and appliances last year, the Beijing Morning Post reported, citing a survey by the Ministry of Commerce. The survey covered the spending of 3.73 million couples on eight new marriage items: photos, jewellery, gowns, wedding designs and banquets, home decorations and appliances, and honeymoons.
