Nokia, Sanyo CDMA venture to set up in Beijing
Nokia's joint venture with Sanyo to pursue CDMA handset technologies will have its China headquarters in Beijing, China Business News reports. The venture, in which each company has an equal share, will be headquartered in San Diego with primary operations in Osaka, and unify the CMDA operations of Nokia and Sanyo into one unit. An R&D group will be set up in China along with the Beijing headquarters. Nokia recently brought 3 CDMA handset models into China as part of its strategy to increase CMDA market coverage. Zhao Kelin, senior vice president of client and marke Nokia's greater China region, said that since the agreement was still in its initial stages, Nokia had not determined the details of its future CDMA operations in China.Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=8021361
