Combined profits at China’s large non-ferrous metal companies may exceed US$17.87 billion (RMB130 billion) for full year 2007, the
China Securities Journal reported, citing projections from the China Non-ferrous Metal Association. No comparative figures were given. China produced nearly 240 million tons of non-ferrous metal last year, ranking it the world’s number one for the sixth consecutive year. It exported US$85 billion worth of non-ferrous metals last year.
