Phoenix TV denies Murdoch pullout
A report by the Financial Times that Rupert Murdoch's News Corp was considering pulling out of Phoenix Satellite Television was denied by the station yesterday, China Business News reports. Both Phoenix TV and Star TV, the News Corp subsidiary with an interest in Phoenix, denied the veracity of the reports. A Star TV spokesperson said that News Corp neither considered nor discussed selling off its 37.5% stake in Phoenix. Phoenix was intended to be the start of an expansion into China for News Corp, but recent regulatory changes limiting the behavior of foreign media companies in the mainland market have made progress difficult.Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=7854206
