Post and telecoms revenues up 11%
China’s post and telecommunications sector posted US$69.7 billion (RMB523.47 billion) in revenues in the first eight months, up 11% year-on-year, the Economic Daily reported. Ministry of Information Industry figures show telecommunications revenues grew 10.7% year-on-year to US$63.29 billion (RMB475.29 billion), while the postal business climbed 14.3% year-on-year to US$6.42 billion (RMB48.18 billion) in revenues for the period. From January to August, the number of mobile phone users totaled 515.67 million nationwide, 54.59 million more than last year. The number of subscribers to broadband services totaled 61.92 million.
