Qihoo has positioned itself as a Web 2.0 search engine, China Business News reports. Qihoo, a forum search company that was established less than six months ago, will shortly announce details of new venture capital it has received, which industry insiders peg at US$10-20 million. There is speculation that the financing comes from Sequoia Capital. Qihoo president Qi Xiangdong declined to reveal details, but said that the company would be promoting itself as a Web 2.0 search engine, cooperating with online communities to gain traffic for its pay-per-click advertisements. Rather than establishing a central search portal, the company will provide searching services for individual communities and forums.Qi, who left Yahoo China in September of last year, said that the company should have a revenue stream by the end of the year. The company has 200 employees, two-thirds of whom are former Yahoo staff. Link: http://dycj.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=7885890
