Record Guangzhou Fair to be expanded next year
The 102rd China Import & Export Fair concluded on Tuesday with a record US$37.5 billion worth of trade deals signed in food, manufactured goods, textiles and garments, and pharmaceuticals, the Shanghai Business Journal reported. Organizers said next year’s fair, which has been scheduled to run from April 15 to 30, will have a larger exhibition space. According to Xu Bing, spokesperson for the fair, the floor space for the biannual event will be expanded from 620,000 square meters to 820,000 square meters for the 103rd fair, and a total of 41,000 booths will be available. The fair, which was previously known as the Guangzhou Fair, was first held in 1957 and is considered a major platform for China’s foreign trade.
