Shanda moves to Shanghai
Shanda has decided to move its music unit from Beijing to Shanghai, the Beijing Times reports. As part of the move, Qian Zhonghua, head of Shanda's Beijing branch, has had his position eliminated, and some of the staff will be laid off. Of the 120 employees in the Beijing branch, many may be moved to Shanghai. According to Shanda's personnel department, Qian's dismissal is related to poor performance of the unit under his tenure. Though its primary Beijing operations, the music service Poptang, will move to Shanghai, the Beijing branch will continue to manage distribution, commercial partnerships, and server maintenance.Link: http://www.bjt.net.cn/news.asp?newsid=134513
