The rental at the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), the tallest building in China, has averaged ¥8 per m2 per day, equaling just 40% of its peak at ¥20 when it was launched almost a year ago. Hit hard by the global recession, the SWFC currently has a 50-60% occupancy ratio. Grade A prime location office building rental in Shanghai stood at ¥7.1/m2/day during the second quarter of the year, sagging 14% from that recorded 6 months earlier, according to a Colliers International report released Tuesday, which also predicted the figure will dive further to ¥6/m2/day by the end of 2009.
