Alibaba.com Ltd (HKG: 1688), China's largest e-commerce platform, posted ¥1.53 billion in revenues and ¥452.5 million in net profits for Q1 2011, up 25.5% and 37.1% respectively from a year earlier. It attracted 3.2 million users and opened 300,000 online stores over the period, taking the total number to 65 million and 8.8 million respectively.
China Coal Energy Co (HKG: 1898), the nation's second biggest coal producer, said its output grew 13% year on year to 8.85 million tons and sales grew 16% year on year to 11.34 million tons in April. It produced 34.75 million tons of coal and sold 44.09 million tons in the first four months, up 6.9% and 22% respectively from the same period a year ago.

Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products Co (SHE: 300122) said it plans to purchase a 100% stake in Dutch company Bilthoven Biologicals for €65 million. Bilthoven Biologicals is a former subsidiary of the Netherlands Vaccine Institute and is in a position to participate in national vaccine research and development projects.
