Shanxi secures 36 billion investment

Shanxi has secured investment that worth 36.4 billion US dollars in its three-day trade fair, with the signings of more than 347 contracts as well as framework and cooperative agreements, The Standard reported. The projects include 61 in coal and chemicals, machinery and equipment manufacturing, materials industries as well as tourism, involving a total investment of about 15.22 billion US dollars, said the paper. "The contracts and foreign investment account for 51 percent and 61 percent respectively of the total, which is in line with Shanxi government's target for the 11th Five Year Plan [2006-2010] of cultivating the pillar industries of the province," vice governor Fan Duixiang said.
