Sinopec denies BP investment rumors
A Sinopec insider said yesterday that reports circulating in the British media concerning a possible US$14 billion investment by BP in the company were mistaken, the Beijing Times reports. The Observer had reported that the Chinese government had authorized a deal between Sinopec and BP, in the amount of US$14 billion, for 25% of Sinopec's stock. The insider, who did not reveal his name to the Beijing Times, flatly denied the reports. Sinopec stock rose on the rumors, up 2.10% to 5.35.Link: http://bjt.net.cn/news.asp?newsid=139674
