South Korean SK Telecoms announced a US$30 million investment in Chinese online game developer Qwd1.com, China Business News reported. The investment, which will be paid over three years, is the company’s first investment in China’s online game market. Qwd1.com president Ye Wei said the deal would give the company easier access to financing and help it crack the international online gaming market. Ye said Qwdi.com was planning to develop bigger, more lucrative games in the second half of the year. The website was founded in August 2006. SK Telecoms is the second largest shareholder of China Unicom.
