Smaller mills drive crude steel output up 18.92%
China’s crude steel output grew 18.92% to 237.58 million tons in the first half of the year, China Economy reported, citing figures from the China Iron and Steel Association. June’s output climbed 14.64% year-on-year to 42.12 million tons. Pig iron production climbed 16.84% to 226.82 million tons in the January to June period, during which steel product output grew 23.9% to 270.25 million tons. ...
