Standard Chartered Bank said it has signed a China mobile phone dealer financing agreement with Nokia, making it the first foreign bank to offer financing to the country's small and medium enterprise (SME) mobile phone suppliers, Forbes reported. Under the agreement, Standard Chartered will offer 120 mln yuan in working capital financing to Nokia's dealers in China, said Forbes. The agreement also provides for access to additional bank financing for dealers at a lower cost than normal loan rates, the funds for which would be used to finance mobile phone stock from Nokia.
