China's venture capital market recorded 154 investment cases valued at a combined $1.21 billion in Q3 2013, resulting in each case worth $7.85 million on average, ChinaVenture figures show.

Compared with the previous quarter, the total value surged 145.9% and the average value was up 42.1%.

The number of investment cases has risen for 3 quarters in a row, with the focus placed on the Internet sector.

In terms of number of investment cases, the Internet sector represented 33%, followed by the telecommunications (21%), information technology (10%) and manufacturing (10%) sectors.

In terms of investment value, the Internet sector represented 37%, followed by the telecommunications (28%) and manufacturing (8%) sectors.
