Electronics retailer Suning announced in its annual report for 2005 that revenue and profit had reached 15.936 billion yuan and 351 million yuan, gains of 74.99% and 93.50%, respectively, over 2004. Return on equity neared 30%, up 8.18% from the previous year. Much of this increase was due to the ambitious expansion undertaken by Suning in 2005; the company opened 140 locations and entered 32 new cities last year, raising its total number of locations 166.67% to 224.
