Super Coffeemix Manufacturing Ltd are in a joint venture with China Lifestyle Food and Beverages Group in Tianjin, China, to manufacture and sell convenience foods such as potato chips, Reuters reported. The 5 million US dollars joint venture is expected to make a contribution to sales by the second half of 2007 with a sales target of 1 billion yuan (125.4 million US dollars) in five years’ time. "There are significant opportunities for a new local entrant to explore the chip market," said Reuters, quoted David Teo, chairman of Super Coffeemix, as saying. "We have experience in making chips and China Lifestyle has a strong brand name, we believe this is a good tie-up," Teo said. "Retail sales of the PRC snacks market reached 25.2 billion yuan in 2005 and is estimated to reach 36.1 billion yuan by 2010," the companies said in a statement.
